Does the finder have to install an app?
No. The phone camera opens a normal web page. iPhone and Android work the same way. Only people who create their own codes need an account.

QRfound is a found page behind a QR code. You mark an item, someone scans it, you get an email. There is no app for the finder and no map that follows the object.

What does the finder see about me?
Neither phone number nor address nor email. They see a note about the item and a form. Your details stay in the account until a report reaches you.
What does it cost?
The first 3 items are free. An extra pack contains 10 items for 5.00 € and lasts 1 year. You only pay for an extra pack, and only if you request it. Payment is a PayPal link, not a subscription on the site.
Does it work without mobile reception?
The sticker needs no signal and no battery. The page and the form need internet. Without a network the finder cannot send the code. With reception or Wi-Fi a minute later, the same code works.
Is this an AirTag alternative?
No, and it is not meant to be. An AirTag shows a rough location and uses Apple’s network. QRfound connects you with a person holding the item – including on Android, and with no battery in the sticker. Both can hang on the same keyring.
Are found pages listed on Google?
No. Pages that appear only after a code is scanned are set to noindex. They should not show up as empty search results.
How many items can I create?
The first items are free. After that you unlock an extra pack with more items for one year. The exact number is shown at registration and in the account.
What happens to the finder’s data?
Name, place and contact are stored and emailed to you only after explicit consent on the form. Without the tick, nothing is sent. Details are in the privacy policy.
